Layer 02 · Hardware token + MFA

A hardware security token that proves identity, possession and liveness

S-Badge is a physical credential with a secure element, organization certificates loaded at manufacturing, and FIDO2 / WebAuthn and PKI sign-in, so X-Factor Authentication (XFA) happens in one touch instead of codes that can be phished.

Quick answer

S-Badge acts as a hardware token for X-Factor Authentication (XFA). It combines something you have (the badge, with a 13.56 MHz NFC / RFID interface and PKI certificates) with something you are (a live fingerprint matched on the card) in a single touch, then signs in over FIDO2 / WebAuthn. Domain-bound signing means it will not authenticate to a look-alike site.

What the token layer does

  • Possession and identity in one touch

X-Factor Authentication (XFA) confirms identity, possession and liveness together, replacing key fobs, SMS prompts and disconnected smart cards.

  • FIDO2 / WebAuthn and PKI SSO

The badge signs in over FIDO2 / WebAuthn and PKI certificates. FIDO2 will not sign to unauthorized domains, which defeats credential-phishing portals.

  • Doors and logins from one badge

A 13.56 MHz NFC / RFID interface opens physical doors while the same badge handles logical sessions. Bio Tap N Go unlocks both in less than one second.

  • Passwordless workstation unlock

Passwordless Windows Hello, macOS and Linux terminal unlock through an on-card assertion, and Bio Snap N Go locks and unlocks a workstation by snapping the badge to the reader.

  • Encrypted sessions

Session tokens are tunneled with AES 128/256 and a shared key generated per session, with RBAC and ABAC enforcing least privilege.

  • No fragile SMS or OTP codes

For regulated workflows such as electronic prescriptions, S-Badge supplies a dual-factor cryptographic signature with a single touch and eliminates SMS / OTP codes.

Answers

Common questions

Is S-Badge a hardware token?

Yes. S-Badge is a physical badge with a secure element and PKI certificates loaded during manufacturing. It performs hardware X-Factor Authentication (XFA) and adds an on-card fingerprint match.

Does S-Badge support FIDO2 and WebAuthn?

Yes. S-Badge signs in with FIDO2 / WebAuthn and PKI SSO, and GNS lists FIDO2 / WebAuthn use in healthcare EHR workflows.

Why is a hardware token safer than SMS or app codes?

Codes can be typed into a phishing page or intercepted in transit. A hardware token that signs only to the real domain, after a live biometric match, cannot be tricked into releasing a code.
